Mr. Marvin Leroy Crook, age 80, died Saturday morning, March 28, 2009 at Sumter Regional Hospital. A native of Sumter County, Mr. Crook was born March 13, 1929, a son of the late Charlie B. Crook and Ostella Fulford Crook. Mr. Crook was employed by Anthony Dairy for forty years and was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service on Tuesday. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of ones choice. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Eloise Crook of Americus; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Dolores Crook of Smithville; a brother, Fred Crook of Warner Robins; three sisters, Margie Dupree of Americus, Mary Avery of Americus and Pearl Bass of Roberta; two grandchildren, Ashleigh and Austin Crook of Smithville.
