Martha June Veatch, age 88, of Americus, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter. Martha was born March 16, 1932 to the late Lester and Nellie Hurley in Damascus, VA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her. She also loved her church family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Dillon officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM and at other times at the home of Jody and Debbie Dupree, 927 Lamar Rd. Americus, GA. 31709. Survivors include; three daughters and sons-in-law; Debbie and Jody Dupree, Carleen and Richard McCorkle, and Beth and George Kelly; also surviving are eight grandchildren; Christopher (Stephanie) Dupree, Kerry (Melissa) Dupree, Kallie (Mike) Turner, Brooke (David) Burke, Brittney (Alan) Sarvis, Mystie (Walt) Medlin, Stephen (Melanie) Barnes, and Rachael Hart; twelve great-grandchildren; Jacob Dupree, Andrew Dupree, Mia Dupree, Shaley Dupree, Brooklyn Goodbread, Eastyn Turner, Brock Turner, Colbie Burke, Forrest Sarvis, Lilliana Medlin, Wyatt Medlin, and Jakob Hart. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Carl Howard Veatch, four sisters, and five brothers. Serving as active pallbearers will be Christopher Dupree, Kerry Dupree, Mike Turner, Brock Turner, Stephen Barnes, Walt Medlin, and Jakob Hart.
