Martha Ansley Brown, 80, of Americus, died Monday, July 23, 2018. A native of Sumter County, she was born April 1, 1938 to the late Ray Bruce Ansley and Harriett Rylander Ansley. She loved her family and her dogs; and spent many years collecting and dealing antiques. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with Rev. Tom Teate officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Priscilla Brown and Rob and Ann Brown, all of Americus; five grandchildren: Andy and Nicole Brown, Ben Brown, Chris Brown, Mandy and Brian Butler, and Johnathan and Kassi McElroy; and five great-grandchildren: Cullen, Ansleigh, Andrew, Briar, and Kelsey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Melvin Brown, Jr., and a brother, Ray Bruce Ansley, Jr. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to: The Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd., Americus, GA 31719.
