Obituary

Margaret Annette Kitchens Smith joined her Lord and Savior in heaven on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Bolingreen Health and Rehabilitation in Macon. A native of Americus, she was born October 8, 1941 to the late John Henry Kitchens and Katherine Johnson Kitchens. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, and worked as a switchboard operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company for fifteen years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Page officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church social hall. Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Malcolm M. "Mack" Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Lee Stockslager of Macon; and two sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Kerry Smith of Americus and Mike and Beth Smith, of Plains. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Stockslager, Dana Stockslager, Ashley Smith, Greg Smith, Ethan Smith, and Cauldin Smith; and a sister, Mary Sue Kitchens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Kitchens. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to: Heart of Georgia Walk to Emmaus, P.O. Box 991, Americus, GA 31709. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
