Louise Mathews Barnes, age 95, of 100 C Cantey Dr., Cobb, died at Perfect Care Saturday, August 6, 2011. A native of Sylvester, she was born September 10, 1915 the daughter of the late Leonidus Durward and Mattie Vann Callaway Mathews. Mrs. Barnes was retired from Sumter Reginal Hospital where she was employed as an LPN and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 6:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Rev. Andy Taunton and Matt Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, August 8, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times the residence of Charlie and Sue Barnes, 100 C Cantey Dr., Cobb. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Georgia Sherriff's Boy's Ranch, 5671 Ga. Hwy 122 E, Hahira, GA. 31632 or to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1256 Highway 280 E., Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Sue Barnes of Cobb; three grandchildren, Rick Barnes of Cobb, Russ and Jarret Barnes of Americus and Renae and Joe Kellam of Americus. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Hubert Barnes and also by four brothers and four sisters. Cemetery: Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery
