Linda Joyce Cannon Smith, age 73, of Americus, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. A native of Leesburg, she was born April 5, 1941, the daughter of the late Bruce and Millicent Cannon. Linda was a retired office manager with Manhattan Shirt Factory, and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held, Friday, September 19, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Rehoboth Cemetery with Rev. Greg Kirk officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Carlton Phillips of Americus; a son, Mark Smith of Americus; 3 sisters, Cynthia Cannon of Americus, Gail Bartlett of Columbia, TN, and Jennifer Lounsbury of Plains; a brother, David Cannon of Bradenton, FL; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Bailey and husband, Robert.
