Obituary

Leonard "Birdeye" Nobles, age 69, of 185 Ga. Hwy. 49 south, died at Phoebe Putney Medical Center Saturday, July 27, 2013. A native of Blakely, he was born October 22, 1943 the son of the late Sam Lester and Jimmie Brownlee Nobles. Mr. Nobles was a member of Cheek Memorial Baptist Church and a past member of MB Council Lodge #13 F & AM, Shriner and also the Moose Club. He was an avid fisherman. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 29, 2013, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times the family residence, 185 Ga. Hwy 49 South. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ann Harris, 1801 Rose Avenue, Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Emily Nobles of Americus; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ken and Shawna Nobles of Americus and Les Nobles of Leslie; two sisters and brother-in-law, Faye and Larry West of Warner Robins and Dorothy Kindon of Slidell, LA; three grandchildren, Levi Nobles, Lenzee Nobles and Deven Nobles; and one great grandchild, Kennedy Bree Nobles.
