Leonard Washington, Jr., age 68, of 609 Winn St., died at his residence Friday, January 1, 2016. A native of Americus, he was born May 1, 1947, the son of the late Leonard and Rossie Washington. Mr. Washington was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for over fifty years and was employed by Reeves Construction. He was married to Daisy Washington for twenty five years. The Lord's Prayer : Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016, at 12 :00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Fran Gillespie officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 332 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709.
