Laverne Mathis Hermanns, age 77, of Cobb, died October 8, 2016 at Magnolia Manor in Americus. A native of Roddie, she was born October 16, 1938 to the late Alvin Mathis and Roberta Woodard Mathis. She was a hairdresser for many years. Survivors include her husband, Bryan "Mike" Hermanns of Cobb; a brother, Alvin "JR" Mathis of Hartford; and four sisters: Geneva Mathis of Eastman, Dorothy Davis and Betty Rouse of Cobb, and Bertha Mathis of Hawkinsville. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
