Larry Reeves Belcher Mr. Belcher was born March 14, 1944, a native of Sumter County, the son of the late Raymond Shaw Belcher and Pauline Reeves Belcher. He graduated from Americus High School and attended South Georgia Technical College. He was a self employed contractor and he served in the National Guard. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Carolyn Belcher of Americus; one son and his fianc, Michael Belcher and Kim Taylor of Americus; two step-sons, John and Angela Dailey of Tupelo, MS., and Jerry and Shona Dailey of Ellaville; a step-daughter, Deborah and Donnie Poole of Ellaville; a brother, Jimmy and Bettye Belcher of Dawson; a sister, Sandra and Owen Upchurch of Conyers; two aunts, Jewell Reeves of Americus and Jane Hendrix of Jacksonville, Fl.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Cemetery: Sunset Memorial Gardens Visitation: Friday, July 3, 2009, from 6 8 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times the family will receive friends at the home of Michael Belcher and Kim Taylor, 343 Middle River Rd., Americus. Service: Graveside service, Saturday, July 4, 2009, at 1:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Lee Pettis officiating.
