Joyce was raised in Oklahoma and she married her high school sweetheart, Ron Gregory, in 1962 in Cushing, Oklahoma. Joyce and Ron have been married for 62 years. Joyce loved playing the flute in both High School Band and Orchestra and won many State awards. She also was an awesome cook and was featured in several newspapers for her wonderful cooking. She was very active in church, local charities, social clubs, etc. Joyce was also a Freelance write for the Christian Booksellers Association, a legal secretary for a law firm, etc. She attended Oklahoma State University, majoring in Home Economics. Yes, she was a great Christian lady and this was known by all her friends and family!
Joyce's love for her Lord, Jesus Christ, kids, and family took her and Ron into full-time service caring for God's children in Texas, Florida, Colorado, California, Haiti, Senegal, and Mali (West Africa) and finally retiring in Americus, Georgia. In 1978, they moved the family to the country of Haiti, where Ron served as Hospital Administrator of a TB hospital for children (200-bed hospital). Joyce served as manager of the Child Sponsor Program and tour guide coordinated for groups visiting Haiti. Ron served as County Director for compassion international's work in Haiti. Joyce oversaw and managed tour groups coming to Haiti to see Compassion's many projects. Which included driving Land Rovers and a special touring bus. The family lived and worked in the countries of Haiti and Mali (West Africa) for over 8 years.
Joyce's love for her family and children was evident in the many friends who knew her. She and Ron were blessed with 4 lovely children, Deana Lynn (Dan) Eastman, Robert Scott (Kelly) Gregory, Nita Anne Ramirez, and Anna-Marie (Chris) Ezekwuka. Together, they have 18 grandkids and 5 great grandkids! Yes, truly blessed by God!
