Joyce Kelly Bird, age 86, of 109 Springdale Dr., Americus, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA., Thursday, June 2, 2011. A native of Memphis, TN., she was born August 4, 1924, the daughter of the late Herman and Hazel Ramsey Kelly. Mrs. Bird was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church, a bookkeeper and a Super Mom. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 5, 2011, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Linda Bird Wright and Rev. Keith Parks officiating. The family will receive friends at their residence, 109 Springdale Dr., Americus, Ga. 31709. Bird of Americus; two daughters, Linda Wright of Chattanooga, TN and Ellen Bird of Calera, AL.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and SuAnn Bird of Americus; close friends, Sandra Sims of Childersburg, AL. and Cindy Peterman of Pratville, AL.; six grandchildren, Chris and Kelly Bird of Americus, Lee Wright of Augusta, Meredith MaGuirk of Thompson Station, TN., Stephanie Stanfield of Boston, MA., and Emily Wright of Austin TX.; and five great grandchildren.
