Mr. Joseph Buchanan, age 79, of Plains, passed away at Phoebe Sumter on Friday, February 4, 2022. Joseph was born to the late Joe and Ruby Buchanan on April 20, 1942. He was a family man and would do anything to make them smile. No services are planned. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Frances Buchanan of Plains; daughter, Terri B. Smith of Plains; five grandchildren, Robert & Lacey Smith, Christopher Smith, Joseph Blaine, Brian Blaine, and Cody Lee; five great-grandchildren, Trenton Smith, Shyanne Smith, AJ Smith, Chole Blaine, and Addison Smith; a brother JM & Brenda Buchanan of Plains; and a sister Earline Cox of Americus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sherri Lane Bullard.
