Mr. John Henry Todd, age 87, of 1156 Highway 280 E., Americus, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. A native of Memphis, TN., Mr. Todd was born June 6, 1923, the son of the late John H. and Susie Boyte Todd. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Todd was a member of M.B. Council Lodge # 13 F&AM, Sumter Shrine Club, Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of Georgia, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Georgia, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Al Sihah Shriners, Calibri # 120 International Past Potentates Association, St. Paul Commandery # 24 Knights Templar, Shriners International, Grand Masters Club of Knights Templar Eye Foundation, South Georgia Technical College Jets Booster Club, and Leslie United Methodist Church. Mr. Todd was very active in his church and served in several capacities with the church. He also served on the authority board of Sam Shortline. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Janurary26, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Leslie United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Tucker and Rev. Joe Bateman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and Wednesday, from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Leslie United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Leslie United Methodist Church General Fund, 111 East Allen St. Leslie, Ga. 31764, or to Hospital Transportation Fund, Al Sihah Shrine, P O Box 3147 Macon, GA 31205. Pallbearers include Jason Williams, Bailey Harris, Max Holloway, Tommy Brewer, Brandon Harrell and Allen Kehoe. Honorary pallbearers include Larry Tucker, Dick Pace, and Jon Daniels, Members of the Cora Pryor Sunday School Class, All Shriners, Masons and wives, and conductors of Sam Shortline. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Betty Bailey Todd of Americus; five daughters and sons-in-laws, Janiece Parsons of Memphis, TN., Jan and George Williams of Plains, Carol and Tom Harris of Lake Blackshear, Lisa and Clint Holloway of Plains and Marie and Alex Belcher of Americus; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Joyce Todd of Macon and David and Marivie Todd of San Diego, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Freda and Gene Allen of Slidell, LA.; nine grandchildren, Michelle and Tommy Brewer, Julie and Bob Speir, Alissa McQuaig, Aaron Todd, Tommy and Tasha Harris, Bailey Todd Harris, Christie and Allen Kehoe, Jason and Tasha Williams, Max Holloway and Mitch Holloway; seven great grandchildren, Heather Todd, Jonathan Todd, Ryan Brewer, Marissa McQuaig, Connor Harris, Anna Harris and Kate Kehoe and his beloved dog, Sam Sam. He was preceded in death by a son, John Bailey.
