John Allen Jackson, 88, of Leslie, passed away at his residence on January 17, 2021. He was born in Paulding County on October 23, 1932, to the late Charlie and Annie Jackson. John attended Leslie United Methodist Church. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, and collecting arrowheads. John loved being outdoors. He was a great softball player and was one of the best fast ball pitcher in his softball playing days. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Leslie City Cemetery. John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bea Jackson "Mema" of Leslie; two sons, Larry Jackson and his wife Carol of Smithville and Doyle Jackson of Leslie; two daughters, Brenda Gilliam and her husband Troy of Leslie and Steffanie and her husband Chip McCook of Leslie; seven grandchildren, Brandy Whaley, Callie & Jeff Fallin, Jon Michael Butler, Jennifer & Kris Peek, Jake & Lauren McCook, Josh & Amanda McCook, and Jesseca & Skylar Kelley; ten great-grandchildren, Saige, Landry, Morgan & Josh, Hunter, Gaige, Nathan, Madelyn, Doyle, Skylar, and Jackson; also surviving are two great-great-grandchildren, Gracie and T.J. Memorial contributions can be made to Leslie United Methodist Church 111 E. Allen St. Leslie, Ga. 31764. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson Jonathan Andy Jackson.
