John Edison Isbell, Jr., age 85, of Americus, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Friday, September 27, 2019. A native of Gadsden, AL., he was born May 13, 1934, the son of the late John Edison and Ethel Isbell, Sr. Mr. Isbell was retired from International Harvester and was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Americus. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Isbell is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Isbell of Americus; two daughters, Margaret Isbell Wilmot of Fayetteville and Anne Moody Isbell of Americus; and a son and daughter-in-law, John E. Isbell, III (Priscilla) of Fayetteville; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
