Jimmy Leon Wilder, age 78, of 453 Reid St., Ellaville, died at his residence Thursday, March 14, 2013. A native of Richland, he was born September 23, 1934, the son of the late Emmett and Mary Ada Murrah Wilder. Mr. Wilder was a long time resident of Stewart and surrounding counties where he was a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. Mr. Wilder was of the Catholic faith. He was retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Orr officiating. The family will receive friends at the family residence prior to and following the service. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Phoebe Sumter Hospice, P. O. Box 1434, Americus, Ga. 31709. Honorary Pallbearers include Chance Anderson, Duane Canady, Travis Streetman, Dylan Minick and Gary Chestnut. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Josephine Wilder of Ellaville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Viveca Wilder Anderson and Mitch of St. Augustine, FL., Stephanie Wilder Streetman and Ronnie of Ellaville and Tammy Minick of Ellaville; two sisters, Laura Price of Terre Haute, IN. and Diane Miller of Richland; six grandchildren, Chance and Jenna Anderson, Mandi Anderson Swanson and Chris, Travis Streetman, Viveca Streetman, Dylan Minick and Gabrielle Minick; and two great grandchildren, Harper Swanson and Claire Anderson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bennie Wilder, Tommy Joe Wilder and Donnie Wilder.
