Jimmy David Holmes, 69, of Vienna, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Crisp Regional Medical Center. A native of Sumter County, he was born July 22, 1948 to the late Carl and Evelyn Holmes. He was an avid fisherman, loved listening to gospel and country music, and watching wrestling. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Lakeview Baptist Church in Cobb with Rev. Brian Bentley officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the church. The family asks that anyone attending dress casually. Survivors include his daughter, Tina Scott of Vienna; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Jeff Lyda of Spartanburg, SC; and a step-son, Felton Cherry of Thomaston; and five grandchildren. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
