Jerry Kicklighter, age 80, of Marietta, Ga., died Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Roselane Nursing and Rehab Center. Native of Ludowici, Ga., he was born May 26, 1939 to the late Thaddeus and Hazel Dubberly Kicklighter. He was married to the late Betty Ruth O'Kelly Kicklighter. Mr. Kicklighter was a member of Grace Community Church, a devote Christian who loved reading the Bible and a strong believer of the Word. He was a member of the Wesleyan Faith. Mr. Kicklighter served as a member in the Unites States Marines and The Unites States Army. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with Julian Maddox officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Kicklighter of Albany, Ga and Ellen K. (Skip) Summers of Dallas, Ga.; a step-daughter, Ruthie Adams of Daytona Beach, Fl.; two sisters, Brenda K. Tuck of Glennville, Ga. and Joy Kicklighter of Augusta, Ga.; a son, Ted (Pam) Kicklighter of Deatsville, Al.; a step-son, Wayne Adams of Ellaville, Ga.; five brothers, Bill Kicklighter of Glenville, Ga. and Don Kicklighter of Glenville, Ga., Mike Kicklighter of Augusta, Ga., Larry Kicklighter of Augusta, Ga., Jack Kicklighter of Augusta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Lee, Bobby and Audrey Wilson, Sarah and Chelsey Cashwell, Taylor and Leif Kicklighter; six great-grandchildren, Aiden, Mason, Damon, Alice and David Wilson and Samantha James. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth O'Kelly Kicklighter and his sister, Audrey Deloach. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Southwest Potter House, P.O. Box 108, Ellaville, Ga., 31806. .
