James Gregory Walden, age 53, of Americus, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Saturday, July 1, 2017. A native of East Point, he was born September 6, 1963, the son of Wallace and JoAnn Walden. Mr. Walden was a Master Plumber. He loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR, Harley Davidson motorcycles and his family. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2017, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Bentley and Rev. Robert Orr officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers include Michael Smallwood, Josh Smallwood, Jamie Crow, Jeffrey Cromer, Jeremy Law, Damion Rodriquez, Brody Harmon and Colton Harmon. Survivors in addition to his parents are two daughters, Desiree` Smallwood of Carrollton and Jessica and Allen Harmon of Molena; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gayle and Brandon Grubbs of Madison and Cindy and Greg Law of Americus; five grandchildren, Michael, Joshua and Dejah Smallwood and Brody and Colton Harmon; three nieces, three nephews, three great nieces and five great nephews. Because of his caring personality, he was adopted by many other children as their uncle and or father.
