Mr. James E. Thomas, age 77, of Americus, died at his residence Friday afternoon. A native of West Virginia, Mr. Thomas was born November 15, 1932 the son of the late Ronald and Lova Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired cosmetologist from the Columbus area who spent most of his life in southern Georgia. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM. Survivors include five sons, Christopher Thomas, Derek Thomas, Bradley Thomas, Danny Thomas and Scott Thomas; five sisters, Margaret Bishop of Florida, Audrey Kinder of Virginia, Minnie Smallwood, Rosa Franke and Julia Cordle all of Columbus, OH.; a special friend, Jan Bliss of Americus and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Thomas and his son, David Thomas. He lived to danceMay he dance with the angels in eternity.
