James "Tommy" Thomas Tanner, age 61, of 1215 Elm Ave., died at his residence Monday, March 30, 2015. A native of Americus, he was born September 24, 1953, the son of the late James Tanner and is survived by his mother, Evelyn Tanner. He was a lifelong farmer as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. James also loved collecting arrowheads and pottery. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mathew Shallenberger officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Amelie Tanner of Acworth; three brothers, Mark Tanner of Oglethorpe, Dennis Tanner of Cordele, and Eric Tanner of Chattanooga, TN.
