James Katherine Stone, age 92, of 2001 S. Lee St., died at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home Friday, April 12, 2013. A native of Chilton County Alabama, she was born July 6, 1920, the daughter of the late Briggs and Willie Popwell Crumpton Brown. Mrs. Stone was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and was a retired bookkeeper for A. Cohen and Sons. She loved gardening , birds and family. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Episcopal Church with Father Frederick Buechner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of Ann Pritchard, 1153 Green Road, Ellaville, GA 31806. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Calvary Episcopal Church, 408 S. Lee St., Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include five grandchildren, Tony & Jill Lee, Tim Lee, Robin Galt, Ann and Daniel Pritchard and Michael and Melissa Marshall; five nieces, Tami and Ricky Duke, Lana and Earl Bass, Kathy Hale, Donna Lawson, Celena Stone; ten great grandchildren, Shawn Pritchard, Tiffany Pritchard, Amber Lee, Zackary Lee, Daylon Lee, Champ Marshall, Megan Galt, Madison Galt, Brittany Lee and Chrissy Lee; three nephews, Pat Crumpton, Morgan Stone and Marcus Stone; a sister-in-law, Josephine Stone; and a son-in-law, Wayne Lee; an aunt, Betty Jean Sheffield; an uncle, Julius Popwell; a number of nieces and nephews and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Stone in 2011. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Jean Lee and Kay Carson Marshall; and two brothers, Walter Pat Crumpton and Briggs Crumpton.
