Mr. James Lewis Johnson, age 86, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Magnolia Manor. A native of Schley County, Mr. Johnson was born April 6, 1928, a son of the late Joe Riley Johnson and Hattie Lou Sorrells Johnson. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm, Monday December 8, 2014 at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Smith and Rev. Will Archibald. Honorary pallbearers will be David Miller, Russell Miller, Stevie Miller, Michael Miller, Dana Payne and Richard Eldher. A visitation will be held from 2-4 pm Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Mr. Johnson was retired from the National Guard and a member of Cheek Memorial Baptist Church. The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to The League of The Good Samaritan, c/o Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee Street, Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Evelyn Lucile Johnson of Americus; one daughter, Sandy Johnson of Senoia; one son, Jimmy Johnson of Americus; three sisters, Helen Walker and Margie Harden, both of Americus and Jeanette Baxter of Hawkinsville; two brothers, Duck Johnson and Alvin Johnson both of Americus. Also surviving are one grandchild, Ashlea Johnson McSwain and one great-grandchild, Zain McSwain. Cemetery: Andersonville National Cemetery
