James Edward "Eddie" Booth, Jr., 64, of Americus died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at his home. A native of Americus, he was born April 9, 1954 to the late James Edward Booth and Betty Jones Booth. He worked as a lineman for Georgia Power for seventeen years before retiring due to his health. In the later years of his life, he was a truck driver and escort driver. He loved horses and cars; and loved life and making people laugh. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with Shane Busby officiating. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, LeighAnne and Nick Busby of Dawson; a son, James Roger "J.R." Booth of Dawson; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Beverly Milner Booth. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
