Jacob Cody Jones, 25, of Plains, died Tuesday, April 04, 2017 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. He was born on November 30, 1991, in Americus, to Stanford Ray Jones and Terri Lacy Jones. He was a member of Plains United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Group. He loved his community of Plains, deep sea fishing, and was very active with the Heart of Georgia Chrysalis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 at Plains United Methodist Church with Bro. Rick Hamilton and Bro. Stan Ballew officiating. Interment will follow in the Leslie City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. Survivors include his parents, Stan and Terri Jones of Plains; maternal grandparents: Harold and Evon Spurlin of DeSoto, and Layne and Janis Lacy of Leslie; paternal grandmother, Loraine Jones of Plains; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
