Obituary

Mrs. Ineal S. Cromer, age 84, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Cromer, a native of Macon County was born the daughter of the late Joseph Luther Satterfield and Minnie Bottoms Satterfield. Mrs. Cromer attended New Era School and graduated from Americus High School in 1943. She was a homemaker, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, nursery teacher, and was a member and treasurer of the WMU. She was also a member of the Dogwood Garden Club. Mrs. Cromer is survived by her husband of 64 years, Sam C. Cromer, of Americus, two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and John Gladden, of Cordele, and Gail and Thurston Clary, of Americus. Also surviving is one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Gloria Cromer, of Ellaville, five grandchildren, Jenny (Chris) Jalbert, of Woodstock, Cindy Cromer, of Ellaville, Christopher (Leslie) Gladden, of Lynne Haven, FL, Nick (Kristy) Gladden, of Tifton, and Jason Wisham, of Americus. Three great-grandchildren Isabella Jalbert and Christopher Jalbert, both of Woodstock and Tyler Horne, of Tifton also survive along with a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cromer was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Nell Taylor, Marie Peterman, J. C. Satterfield, and E. J. Buck Satterfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steven Golden officiating, burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, with her nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from six until eight PM on Monday, May 25th at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times at the home of Gail and Thurston Clary, 403 Bell Street, Americus. The family suggests that memorial be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 846 Lane Store Road, Americus, GA 31709.
