Mr. Herschel Shannon White, age 74, formerly of Plains, died Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Warner Robins Rehabilitation Center in Warner Robins. A native of Americus, Mr. White was born August 4, 1936, the son of Charley Esco and Barbary Lucile White. He loved gardening, raising produce, hunting, fishing and working with his hands. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lowell Layman officiating. Burial will follow at Union Methodist Cemetery in Marion County. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from 6 until 8 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles White and a grandchild.
