Herbert B. Norris Herbert B. Norris, age 86, of 1220 Ogelthorpe Ave., died at his residence Monday, November 10, 2014. A native of Wrightsville, he was born October 8, 1928, the son of the late Lofton Bernard and Dicy Hall Norris. Mr. Norris was a member of First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and he played college football at the University of Georgia under Coach Wallace Butts. Mr. Norris was a member of Wally's Boys and he was the Athletic Director at South Georgia Tech for over 30 years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rusty Mauldin officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice. Pallbearers include Bud Duvalle, Terrell Turner, Greg Long, Ted Norris, Doug Parrish and David Baldwin. Survivors include a daughter, Jeana Norris of Americus; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerre and Dana Norris of Americus and Kim Norris of Albany; five grandchildren, Ted Norris, Kimberly Norris, Jack Norris, Taylor Norris and Chase Norris.
