Harriet "Tina" Rushing, age 90, of Newton, NC, formerly of Americus, died Saturday August 24, 2019 at Frye Hospital in Hickory, NC. Mrs. Rushing was born June 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Davis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church when she resided in Americus. Services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Hall officiating. Burial will be private. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Herschel and Sharon Rushing of Newton, NC; a sister, Ruth Roberts of Waycross; two brothers, Eugene Davis of Americus and Stout Davis of Albany; two grandchildren, Warren Rushing of Vale, NC and Jamie Cockman of Sherrills Ford, NC; and two great grandchildren, Jeremiah Cockman and Emma Cockman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary McClung and Dorothy Tanner; three brothers, Clarence Davis, Wilburn Davis and Harry Davis.
