Glenn Wayne Holbrook, age 68, of 693 Highway 153, Preston, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Columbus Hospice. A native of Stewart County, he was born June 16, 1944, the son of the late Wiley Burl and Ruby Marietta Kennedy Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook was Baptist by faith, served in the Army and loved auto racing. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013, at 2:00 PM at the Preston City Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 30, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times 693 Highway 153, Preston. Survivors include a daughter, Monica Wainwright of Preston; a son and daughter-in-law, Efrem and Jennifer Holbrook of Richland; six sisters, Linda Norris of Leesburg, Mildred Otto of Lumpkin, Geraldine Moncus of Columbus, Faye Smith of Americus, Elizabeth Johnson of Columbus and Dorris Watford of Americus; two brothers, Jack Holbrook of Preston and Stoney Holbrook of Preston; five grandchildren, Lori Holbrook of Americus, Tiffany Holbrook of Richland, Brittany Holbrook of Richland, Demi Wainwright of Preston and Victoria Wainwright of Ellaville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norine Lorrine Holbrook, October 5, 2012; a sister, Dorothy Johnson and a brother, Wiley Holbrook. Cemetery: Preston City Cemetery
