Gertie Evans Daniel, age 83 of Slocomb, Al., formerly of DeSoto, fell asleep in the Lord January 4, 2011. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 57 years, Mack Daniel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at DeSoto Baptist Church, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Troy Fripp officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service at DeSoto Baptist Church beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at DeSoto City Cemetery.
