Gail Glawson Ariail, 78, of Americus died Wednesday, June 5th at her home. A lifelong resident of Sumter County, she was born January 17, 1941 to the late Mrs. Mary Copeland Glawson. As a member of First Baptist Church, she was actively involved in many church activities. She was also a member of the Junior Service League. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8th at First Baptist Church of Americus with Rev. Keith Parks officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior the service, at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, Ervan Ariail of Americus; and two daughters and a son-in-law: Gayla Ariail Payne of Auburn, AL, and Ashley Ariail Bernier and her husband Jeff, of Alpharetta. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Rob Payne, Ashlyn Payne, Nicholas Bernier, and Natalie Bernier Fitzhugh (Austin); and one great-grandchild, Maverick Fitzhugh. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Americus, 221 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
