Mr. Frank Douglas Wohrley, of Americus, died at his home on September 10, 2017. Mr. Wohrley was a native of Covington KY, born September 6, 1942, the son of the late Douglas Charles and Laura Riddle Wohrley. Mr. Wohrley was a veteran of the U S Army and loved his family, reading, and fishing. He was the past District Governor of the Lions Club, and a past Deacon and Elder at First Presbyterian USA. He was an Environmental Engineer with Proctor and Gamble and Weyerhaeuser and served on the Conservancy Board for the State of Georgia. Services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Plains United Methodist Church with Bro. Stan Ballew, and Rev Lauri Hartley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Pat Wohrley, of Americus, one daughter Kathy Furney, of St. Augustine FL, two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Priscilla Wohrley, of Ellaville and Jared and Heather Wohrley, of Americus. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Colin Furney, Amber Wohrley, Mackenzie Wohrley, Drew Wohrley, and Kelsey Barfield. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Lions Clubs International Foundation, Department 4547, Carol Stream, Illinois 60122-4547, or the charity of your choice. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
