Obituary

Mrs. Fay Daphene Hines, age 88, of 115 Browns Mill Pond Road, Leslie, died at her residence on Wednesday afternoon, September 17, 2008.\r\n Mrs. Hines was a native of Dougherty County, GA, born March 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Foy Teresa Averitte. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Americus.\r\n Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesburg City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Pete Wilson, Kevin Hines, William Loftin, and Cecil Hale. The family will receive friends between the hours of six and eight PM on Friday at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, at other times at the family residence 115 Browns Mill Road.\r\n Mrs. Hines is survived by one daughter, Elaine Teresa Hines Loftin, of Erin, TN, one son Hal Ansel Hines, of Leslie, five Grandchildren, Mandy Wilson, Rita Hines, Kevin Hines, Hope Ashburn, and Paige Ashburn. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Walker Hines.\r\n In lieu of flower the family wishes for memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Americus and Sumter Co.
