Evelyn F. English, age 85, of 225 Hospital St., Plains, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Thursday, February 19, 2015. A native of Poulan, she was born April 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Harry Leon and Alma Spence Fowler. She was a member of Plains United Methodist Church, Iris Garden Club, Plains Homemaker Club, as well as Stich and Chat. Evelyn also enjoyed square dancing. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 2:00 PM, at Plains United Methodist Church with Rev. Lauri Hartley officiating with burial to follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains. The family will receive friends at the home of Rick and Norma English, 611 Thrasher Road, Plains, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Plains United Methodist Church, 301 West Church Street, Plains, GA 31780. Survivors include her husband of sixty-seven years, Neal English, of Plains; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Wesley Taylor of Buena Vista; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Norma English of Plains, and Brad and Teresa English of Americus; six grandchildren, Quincey English, David English, Jerry English, Brandon English, Julie Taylor, and Beth Torres; as well as ten great grandchildren.
