Ernestine Doris Thrift Baysinger, age 87, of 2001 S. Lee St., died Thursday, May 03, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. A native of Gardendale, Alabama, she was born July 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Millie Cameron Thrift. Mrs. Baysinger was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Moss Funeral Home in Cullman, Alabama. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at Moss Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cullman Memory Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Masonic Children's Home of Georgia, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, Georgia 31211; the First Baptist Church of Cullman's Building Fund or Calvary Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, 408 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Donna and David Becton of Americus and Sandra Decker of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a sister, Marie Duncan of Cullman, AL; four grandchildren, Angela Macey, Susan Bovell, Chuck Carson and Amy Becton; five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Baysinger; two sisters, Ellie Elkin and Francis Thrift; and five brothers, Taylor Thrift, William Thrift, J.D.
