Elva Murray Phillips, age 80, of Phenix City, AL., passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Columbus Hospice. A native of Florence, SC., Elva was born February 28, 1941 to the late James and Mamie McCown. Elva was a member of First Baptist Church in Buena Vista. Her faith in God is what gave her strength. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Her family was her world. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Florence National Cemetery in South Carolina. A local celebration of life will be held at a later date. Survivors include; two sons, Michael Keith Murray of Phenix City, AL. and Rod(Meredith) Murray of Americus; four grandchildren, Roger Murray, Brandon Murray, Derrek Murray, and Hayden Murray; and three great-grandchildren; also surviving are two former daughters-in-law, Lynette Murray and Aubrey Murray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Roger Keith Murray.
