Elizabeth Parsons Ledger of 479 Clements Road, Americus died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry. Mrs. Ledger, a life time resident of Sumter County, was born January 21, 1938, the daughter of the late George and Arrie Parsons. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was in the WMU, sang in the choir and was an assistant pianist. Mrs. Ledger enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, playing the piano, cooking and crocheting. She also spent many good times gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Steven Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, January 16 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-laws, Raymond Allen and Jennifer Ledger of Americus and Jesse Lee and Jenny Ledger of Perry; one sister, Lilyann Peterman of Tallahassee, FL. and four grandchildren; Matthew Allen Ledger of Annapolis, MD, Jeremy George Ledger of Americus, Daniel Lee Ledger of Perry, and Rebecca Kay Ledger of Perry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse George Ledger, and a sister, Sarah Reid Spillers.
