Elizabeth Liz Willis Garrett, age 82, of 2001 South Lee Street, Americus, died May 9, 2010, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. A native of Tifton, Mrs. Garrett was born May 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Lou Willis. She was a member of Benevolence United Methodist Church. Mrs. Garrett was retired from Scott Bedding where she was employed as a seamstress. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 11, 2010, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Americus and Sumter County, P.O. Survivors include a daughter, Louise Tucker of Americus; a son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Carla Tucker of Ellaville; a sister, Jean Barrett of Dixie, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Jewel Willis of Ellaville; four grandchildren, Cathy Tucker Jones, Penny Creel Spann, Katie Anne Creel and Hannah Tucker; four great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
