Edward Gilbert Jones, 69, of Montezuma, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus. He was born May 19, 1947 in Montezuma to the late Zelma Gilbert Johnson. He was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church and was a truck driver for many years. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Felton Cemetery in Montezuma. Rev. Ed Sandefur will officiate the service. Survivors include his three sons: Christopher and Julie Anne Jones of Macon, Allan and Erin Jones of Leonardtown, MD, and Michael Jones of Montezuma; and six grandchildren: Hannah Jones, Rebecca Jones, Amelia Jones, Ava Jones, Megan Jones, and Duncan Jones. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-four years, Joette Watson Jones.
