Edith Leone Cavender Dupree, 93, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born June 17, 1923 in Lincoln Parish, LA, to the late Joe Henry Cavender and Ida Puckett Cavender. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist church, and loved to hunt and fish. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens in Oglethorpe. Rev. Gerald Hollis will officiate the service. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Debbie Dupree of Americus; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Frankie Johnson of Cordele; daughter-in-law, Linda Shingler of Byron; and a sister, Frances Restagno of Cobb. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Tim Dupree; two brothers: W.H. Cavender and Robert (Bob) Cavender; and two sisters: Clyde Saunders and Beatrice Cavender. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Reflections Hospice, 202 E 4th Ave., Cordele, Ga 31015. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
