Dorothy Reid Gardner, age 101, of 114 Sullivan Drive, Americus, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Perfect Care in Americus. Mrs. Gardner was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Dorothy was born on December 6, 1919 in Americus, GA, the daughter of the late Emmett Cawood and Annie Belle Carter Reid. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 11:00 AM from the graveside at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Marty Dillon and Rev. Rusty Mauldin officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times they may be contacted at the home of James and Connie Dozier, 500 Bob Dodson Road, Plains, GA. Mrs. Gardner is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and James Dozier of Plains, two sons, and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carol Gardner of Athens, AL., and Murray and Gloria Gardner of Bartow, GA. Also surviving are elven grandchildren, Larry Trawick JR, Steve Trawick, David Trawick, Reid Trawick, Rob Gardner, Kristy Gardner Swinson, Kirk Gardner, Tre Gardner, Ron Dozier, Angel Dozier Lamb, and De Dozier Sears, 29 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Murray Gardner, Sr., one daughter Pat Trawick, two brothers, E. C. and Toby Reid, two sisters, Etna Glawson and Nona Guest, and one granddaughter, Leigh Ann Brett and great-grandson, Gerald Lee Brett.
