Doris Cordell Williams, age 79, of 694 B Lasco Harvey Rd., died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Monday, December 5, 2011. A native of Americus, she was born June 20, 1932, the daughter of the late John Edd and Francis Elizabeth Turner Cordell, Sr. Mrs. Williams was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and Morning Glory Garden Club since 1993. She was a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University and was retired from Wells Fargo where she was employed as a Bank Examiner. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 9, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Dupree officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 8, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Tom Bagwell of Mobile, AL and a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Debra Jordan of Americus, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Williams, Sr. Cemetery: Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery
