Doris Player Goodin, age 85, of 107 N. Spring Creek Rd., died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Crisp Regional Hospital. A native of Marks Creek, N. C., she was born June 24, 1928, the daughter of the late Paul and Kate Player. She was a retired bookkeeper at Georgia Southwestern State University and was of the Methodist faith. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Rob Cravens officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Alzheimers, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Bret Bulger of Mexico; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Reba Goodin of Cordele and Frank and Lisa Goodin of Cobb; three sisters and brothers-in-law Ollie and Joe Torpercer of Youngstown, OH, Cookie and Duck Johnson of Americus, and Helen Sage of Portland, OR; a brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Opal Player of Americus; five grandchildren, Melissa and David Settles, Bryan and Kristen Goodin, Patrick Goodin, Kate Goodin, and Kasey Thigpen; and two great grandchildren, Will and Ben Settles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgel Franklin Goodin. Cemetery: Sunset Memorial Gardens
