Dewey Clyde McCormick,Sr., age 64, died at Miona Geriatric and Dementia Center in Ideal, Monday, April 28, 2014. A native of Louisville, KY., he was born June 15, 1949, the son of the late Dora Clark Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Navy with twenty two years of service. He was formerly employed at Youngblood Electric. Funeral services will be private. Survivors include two sons, Dewey Clyde McCormick, Jr. and Justin McCormick both of Americus; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Paul Wright of Americus, Kay and Paul Wells of Alabama and Patricia Murray of Louisiana; and one grandchild, Amber McCormick. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sampson Tellis "Ted" McCormick, Sr.
