David Wiley Summerlin, Sr., age 68, of 320 Barlow St., Americus, died at Charlie Norwood Veterans Hospital in Augusta, Monday, April 25, 2011. A native of Carrolton, he was born June 30, 1942 the son of the late Walter and Addie Rene Kitchens Jones. He was a veteran of the Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Summerlin was employed with Gammage Print Shop for many years and then became a caregiver and sponsor for Middle Flint Behavior and Health Care. He loved fishing and helping others. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Harris officiating. Survivors include his wife, Wynell Summerlin of Americus; two daughters and son-in-law, Wanda and Ronald Busbee of Americus and Javonne Spence of Bonaire; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Virginia Summerlin, Jr. of Americus; two brothers, Steve Summerlin and Donnie Summerlin of Americus; four grandchildren, Chad Busbee, Crystal Busbee, Haley Summerlin and Nicholas Summerlin. Service: Thursday, April 28, 2011, 2:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel
