Mrs. Darline Hayes, age 89, died at her residence Wednesday night May 6, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 13 in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with President Willie Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. A native of Dillon, Mt., and Mrs. Hayes was born May 26, 1919, daughter of the late Murray Thomas Campbell and Hannah Robinson Campbell. She moved to Miami, Fl. at the age of two and then to Americus in 2004. She is the last survivor of seven siblings. Mrs. Hayes enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crafts and family history. She had a great love for her extended family and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Morris Hayes, on February 19, 2009. Survivors include two daughters, Sunny Hayes and Cathy Hayes both of Americus and a number of nieces and nephews. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Americus and Sumter County, P. O. Box 1434, Americus, Ga. 31709.
