Dan Burke Whitaker, age 72, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011. He was born in Hartwell, Georgia on January 14, 1939. Dan retired from Dow Chemical as National Sales Director and, together with his wife Jane, own Realty Professionals West of Douglasville, GA. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife Jane Whitaker, of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Vicki Whitaker of Winston; daughter, Dana Whitaker Renton of Winston; son, Kirk Whitaker of Douglasville; sister, Elsie Shell of Americus; twin brother, Don Whitaker; brothers, Joe Whitaker, Douglas Whitaker, Hodges Whitaker; grandchildren, Cameron Renton, Alexandria Renton, Megan Whitaker, Hannah Whitaker. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 11:00 am at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, 142 Southland Road, Americus, Georgia 31709with Rev. William Hall officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
