Jack Haney Brown
January 18, 1944 – August 10, 2024
CMSgt (Ret) Jack H. Brown, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at his home in Americus, Georgia. He was born on January 18, 1944 in Bardstown, Kentucky to the late George Stith & Pauline Haney Brown. Jack proudly served his country for 28 years before retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
After retirement he continued his service as an active member in both the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and NASCAR. Jack was known for his remarkable ability to weave a story for any occasion. Whether it was a moment of joy or a time of challenge, he always had a tale that brought insight, laughter or comfort to those around him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years Barbara J. Brown; and sons George (Tammy) Brown of Americus, GA and Carl Brown of Brandon, FL. Survivors also include: brothers Eddie (Linda) Brown and John Brown, sisters Suzie (Donald) Dykes and Vicki Braxton, grandchildren Zacharie (Laine) Brown, Joshua Brown, Chelsie Brown, Kasie (Jeremy) Keraghan and Taylor (Alex) Pence. Six great-grandchildren: Georgia, Colton, MaKenzie, Carson, Sheppard and Josiah.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents George & Pauline Brown and his brother Owen Brown.
